We are getting close to opening our next production, the Chicago premiere of "Sixty Miles to Silver Lake" by Dan LeFranc, directed by our Producing Director, Sarah Moeller. It is Dan's second production in Chicago following his critically acclaimed "The Big Meal" at American Theatre Company last year. Our production team is doing another total make-over of Studio 336 and we start tech rehearsal on Saturday with previews beginning on Thur., April 18.
The play won the prestigious New York Times Best Playwright Award for 2010 and deals with the memories of a Father and Son stuck in a car for some difficult/hilarious/heartwrenching moments that bounce between the hyper realistic and abstract. It takes a detailed and nuanced look at the effects of divorce on all parties. We have cast the talented Sean Bolger and Ethan Dubin and they are in great shape for tech. We have also introduced some video mapping by company member Liviu Pasare to get the car moving (see one of our video inspirations below).
On April 22, we are offering $10 tickets as part of the "175 Days to Love Chicago" celebration and you can get tickets for the entire run here!
