"Forest. Trees. Time. Space."
This past weekend Collaboraction sent 12 artists to the ElectricForest Festival in Rothbury, Michigan for a mind blowing 5 day weekend of music, art, and marriage proposals.
Working off of the themes of the forest and trees and time and space and the relativity of both, Collaboraction built a giant 24-foot tall 8 foot by 8 foot wide clock tower, designed by the brilliant mind Doc Sanjurjo, and put on interactive, immersive performances including the infamous Dome of Doom. They collaborated with Environmental Encroachment, marched in the alien parade with the String Cheese Incident, and created a giant red theatrical curtain for the Forest Stage, and waking people up with the sounds of Albert Einstein played backward.
“What they’re doing there in Rothbury, Michigan, from what I can tell, is unlike anything else that’s happening in the States. It’s like the evolution of Burning Man meets Lollapalooza, but only the best of both in the mystical woods with a collection of open souls."
Check out the interview with Anthony to hear more about all of the cool stuff Collaboraction did at the festival, jamming in the pool with EE, what this experience means to Anthony as an artist, stuff about trees, and the marriage proposal!
Video of the Marriage proposal here! Proposal starts at 2:41, but the first two minutes are an awesome forest parade jam!
